PFC is able to produce a “best in class” ride due to the support of hundreds of volunteers. There are many jobs we need help with so surely there’s one that will suit the talents and abilities of anyone interested in helping our hungry children by volunteering. We need you!

VOLUNTEER TEAMS & RESPONSIBILITIES

THE RIDE ADVANCE TEAM Oversees all things administrative for PFC, including registrations, packet production and delivery to participants, and all other duties that provide the foundation for a successful race.

START PARTY TEAM (Cheerleaders, Set Up/Break Down, Worker Bees) Let’s have a party! The Starting Line at North Collier Regional Park will set the tone for the PFC bike events by giving our hero cyclers an exciting send-off. Volunteers help with registration, food service, loading luggage, and set up and breakdown. We support the riders and welcome them as they gear up for their rides.

RIDER SUPPORT & SAG TEAMS Keep our riders happy and safe on the road. The SAG Team takes care of bikes at the start, overnight, and along the course, making sure riders have whatever support they need. SAGs ride along with skilled mechanics to help riders with bike troubles get back up and riding fast The Rider Support Team takes care of the riders. This is a crew of openhearted caregivers who focus on making sure the riders feel safe and sound, and that they are cared for and cheered for during the entire journey.

ROUTE MARSHALLS Help direct riders on the course so that every cyclist stays on the route and reaches the finish line without getting lost. You will be placed at critical intersections to direct cyclists around road hazards. This is a mission-critical role. Come have fun cheering riders along as you point them in the right direction

AID STATION/WATER STOP TEAMS Greet cyclists, serve food and beverages, and provide a helping hand when needed. Make sure all cyclists and volunteers get their share of delicious treats. Encourage riders along the way.

FINISH LINE PARTY TEAM Volunteers welcome our riders “home” with great enthusiasm and appreciation for their hard work cycling across the state. For many riders, the finish line IS the lasting impression of our event that they will take home. We want to provide a positive experience so they go home happy and satisfied, with the desire to continue fundraising after they arrive home. Volunteers set up the finish line party, serve food, prepare to-go food bags, direct traffic away from and cyclists to the finish line, direct riders to the photographer for finisher photos, to the showers, massage tent, etc., load or rack bikes, assist with baggage retrieval, assist riders onto buses, and clean up the park.
